This month’s image for the Dragon’s Lair Challenge on the Facebook Page is of a Maypole. Last Friday the school I work in held it’s annual May Celebrations. The May Queen is crowned, a speech given and each class performs two dances, the second of which is around the Maypole. Finally the Year 6 boys perform the stick dance, form a guard of honour and the May Queen and her attendants leave. It’s great fun and the children love doing it.
My card does not have children dancing but butterflies!

X-Press It card
acrylic flower embellishment from stash
I printed the frame at the size I wanted for my card and then used that to get the right size for the image. The sentiment printed at the bottom of the frame is from the page kit set. The Maypoleimage is printed on X-Press It card with the bottom layer of the butterflies on and coloured in with copics. The butterflies are printed out a second time at the same size, fussy cut and stuck ontop of the base images on just the bodies so that the wings stand proud.
I printed out two of the papers, one with butterflies and a plain blue one and used these to mat and layer my frame on an A5 card blank. I used the same butterfly paper printed on the envelope and on the card insert.
Thank you for visiting. Take care.
